5000mg CBD Cream for Fibromyalgia Pain in Seniors

CBD Cream for Fibromyalgia Pain in Seniors

If you’re dealing with fibromyalgia, you probably already know that finding something that makes you more comfortable isn’t always easy.

And as we get older, those everyday aches and pains can become even more frustrating.

I’ve had quite a few customers ask me about using a high-potency CBD cream for areas where they experience discomfort. One of the questions that comes up is whether a 5,000mg CBD cream makes sense for someone with fibromyalgia.

There isn’t a simple yes-or-no answer. CBD cream hasn’t been proven to treat or cure fibromyalgia, and everyone’s experience is different.

But if you’re interested in trying a topical, there are some things I think are worth understanding before you buy one.

What Is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition commonly associated with widespread pain and tenderness. People can also experience fatigue, sleep problems and difficulty concentrating.

Because the discomfort can involve different parts of the body, someone with fibromyalgia may be interested in products that can be applied directly to a particular area.

That’s where a topical CBD cream comes in.

Instead of taking CBD by mouth, you apply the cream directly to the skin.

Can You Use CBD Cream for Fibromyalgia?

This is where I want to be careful about making promises.

CBD cream isn’t a treatment or cure for fibromyalgia.

Research into cannabinoids and pain is ongoing, but that doesn’t mean we can say a topical CBD cream will treat fibromyalgia or eliminate its symptoms.

What I can tell you is why people are interested in topicals.

If you have an area that feels uncomfortable, you can apply the cream directly to that area. Some people also like the experience of massaging a topical into the skin as part of their normal routine.

Why 5,000mg?

This is probably the biggest source of confusion I see when people compare CBD creams.

A label might say 500mg, 1,000mg, 2,000mg or 5,000mg, but that number doesn’t tell you everything you need to know.

The size of the container matters, too.

Our 5,000mg CBD cream contains:

  • 5,000mg CBD
  • 500mg CBG
  • 4 oz / 113g of cream
  • Menthol for a cooling sensation
  • Arnica
  • Aloe Vera
  • Olive Oil
  • MCT Oil

That works out to approximately 44mg of CBD per gram of cream.

That’s a much more useful number when you’re comparing products.

How Much CBD Is in an Application?

There isn’t one fixed amount because it depends on how much cream you actually use.

Our 4 oz jar contains approximately 113 grams of cream and 5,000mg of CBD.

So:

5,000mg ÷ 113g = approximately 44mg CBD per gram of cream.

If you used 2 grams of cream, for example, that would contain approximately 88mg of CBD.

That’s simply the math based on the total amount of CBD in the jar. It isn’t a recommended dose.

I mention it because I think customers deserve to know what the numbers on the label actually mean.

What About the 500mg of CBG?

Our formula doesn’t contain CBD alone.

There’s also 500mg of CBG in each 4 oz jar.

CBD and CBG are two different cannabinoids found in hemp.

We list them separately because I don’t think it makes sense to take 5,000mg of CBD plus 500mg of CBG and call it a “5,500mg CBD cream.”

It’s 5,000mg CBD + 500mg CBG.

That’s what you’re actually buying.

Why Does the Cream Feel Cold?

Our 5,000mg formula contains menthol.

The menthol is what gives the cream its noticeable cooling sensation.

And this is another area where I think CBD shoppers sometimes get confused.

A stronger cooling sensation doesn’t mean a cream contains more CBD.

Cooling and CBD concentration are two different things.

Some people really like the cooling feeling. Others would rather use a topical without menthol.

That’s why I think it’s worth paying attention to the entire formulation rather than simply looking for the biggest milligram number.

What Should Seniors Look for in a CBD Cream?

Choosing a CBD Cream for Fibromyalgia

If you’re older and considering a CBD topical, I’d keep the decision pretty simple.

Look at the actual concentration

Don’t just compare the number on the front of the jar.

Look at the total CBD, container size and CBD per gram.

That’s going to give you a much better comparison.

Read the ingredient list

CBD is only one ingredient.

Our 5,000mg cream also contains ingredients including menthol, arnica, aloe vera, olive oil and MCT oil.

If you have allergies or sensitivities, read the entire ingredient list before trying a new topical.

Decide whether you want cooling

If you like menthol, a cooling cream may be exactly what you’re looking for.

If you don’t like that sensation, choose a non-cooling formula instead.

Look for testing

I’d also look for third-party laboratory testing.

You want to know that the cannabinoid information on the label is supported by actual testing.

Consider the texture

This sounds like a small thing, but it’s not.

A cream feels very different from a thick salve.

If you want something that’s easy to spread over a larger area and doesn’t leave you with a heavy, waxy feeling, you may prefer a cream.

How Do You Apply CBD Cream?

It’s pretty straightforward.

Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin and massage it into the area.

Because our 5,000mg formula contains menthol, you’ll notice the cooling sensation as you apply it.

I’d start with a reasonable amount rather than covering the entire area with a thick layer.

And, as with any topical product, don’t apply it to broken or irritated skin and keep it away from your eyes.

5,000mg vs. 10,000mg CBD Cream

This is another question customers ask me quite often.

Our 5,000mg cream contains:

5,000mg CBD + 500mg CBG

Our 10,000mg cream contains:

10,000mg CBD + 1,000mg CBG

Both are available in 4 oz containers.

I don’t think one is automatically “better.”

They’re simply different concentrations.

If you’re trying to decide which strength makes sense for you, our CBD cream strength comparison breaks down the differences.

What About Medications?

This is especially worth mentioning for seniors.

Many older adults take prescription medications, sometimes several of them.

CBD can potentially interact with certain medications, so I wouldn’t recommend assuming that a topical CBD product is automatically appropriate simply because it goes on your skin.

If you’re taking prescription medication, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding CBD to your routine.

That’s a much better approach than trying to figure out potential interactions on your own.

Is CBD Cream a Replacement for Fibromyalgia Treatment?

No.

If you’ve been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, your healthcare provider can help you develop an appropriate treatment plan.

A CBD cream shouldn’t replace that care.

Think of a topical as something you may choose to add to your personal routine—not as a substitute for medical treatment.

And if your symptoms are changing, becoming severe, or interfering significantly with your daily life, that’s something to discuss with your healthcare provider.

What Makes Our 5,000mg Cream Different?

inside jar of CBD Cream 5000 mg

I’ve been working with CBD topicals for years, and one thing I’ve learned is that bigger claims don’t necessarily make a better product.

I’d rather tell customers exactly what they’re getting.

Our 5,000mg cream gives you:

5,000mg CBD
500mg CBG
4 oz of cream
Cooling menthol
Arnica
Aloe Vera
Olive Oil
MCT Oil
Third-party testing
Made in the USA

That’s it.

You don’t have to make the product sound like a miracle to explain what’s actually in it.

If you’re comparing high-potency CBD creams, that’s what I’d recommend looking at: the actual cannabinoid concentration, ingredients, testing and value.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a senior with fibromyalgia and you’re considering a 5,000mg CBD cream, I’d encourage you to look past the big number on the label.

Look at the concentration, ingredients, container size, testing and the type of formulation you actually want to use.

Our 5,000mg formula contains 5,000mg of CBD and 500mg of CBG in a 4 oz jar, along with menthol, arnica, aloe vera, olive oil and MCT oil.

It isn’t a cure for fibromyalgia, and I don’t want to tell you that it is.
